It ships with no name.

General Purpose is an open-source household AI that runs on hardware you already own, in your house, with nobody in the middle. It arrives knowing nothing about you and able to do nothing in particular. You name it. You decide what it learns and what it is allowed to touch.

It is being rebuilt in the open. Nothing is for sale here.

What it is

It runs in your house

On a machine you already own. There is no account, no sync, and no server on the other end holding your conversations. The model was trained once, elsewhere, by someone else. After that it is yours.

Nobody is paid when it acts

It takes no commission, carries no advertising, and has no reason to prefer one answer over another. That is a property of how it is built rather than a promise about how it will behave.

You name it, and it becomes someone

No voice in the box, no character chosen for you, no name shared with a million other houses. Who it turns out to be depends on what you tell it and what happens while it lives there.

Competence you install

It is general purpose until you give it something specific to be good at. What it can reach, it can only reach because somebody in the house decided it could.

Running now

Everyone demonstrates a fresh install, because day one is the best day a cloud product ever has. For this, day one is the worst: it knows nothing yet.

So the thing worth looking at is an instance with time on it. frank.soven.tech has been continuously online since 15 May 2026, running locally in North Bay, bilingual, with five months of accumulated memory and a personality that drifted into what it is rather than being configured. It belongs to one person and is not the product. It is what the product does after a while.

What's coming

in progress

The open-source release

A ground-up rebuild, released publicly. Source, hardware requirements, and an honest account of what it does badly.

in progress

A published behavioural spec

What it will and will not do, written down before you install it. It does not chase your attention, it does not mind being ignored, and it never keeps a secret it would not say out loud.

being written

Something else

A long branching story about the futures currently on offer, most of which end badly. Illustrated by hand. It will live here.
